You don't have to use hammer ons or pick offs it's just easier, sounds a lot
better and is the proper way of doing it ( unless you have a bass then it's
probably done without all the hammer ons and pick offs.

i think some of the left hand would be better on a bass. I think it works
quite well on the guitar particularly the little runs. I'm pretty sure the
