There are way too many wrong tabs of this song on the net, and that’s not to say this tab is 100% correct… but it’s a hell of a lot closer than any others! Email me at Guitarplyr426ap@cs.com for comments or corrections.
Standard Tuning – EBGDAE For correct timing just listen to the song. I did this tab in Microsoft Word so I sure hope it doesn’t come out fucked up, but you never know.

[Verse] I don’t know the names for all of these chords, deal with it they are tough. You should be able to figure out the strumming on your own it is definitely not hard. e|--4-4--------3-3----------------------------------------------------0------| B|--5-5--------4-4-------------2-2--------------------------2-2-------0------| G|--6-6--------5-5-------------1-1--------------------------1-1-------2------| D|--6-6--------6-6-------------3-3--------------------------2-2-------2------| A|--4-4--------3-3-------------1-1--------------------------1-1-------0------| E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| Waitin… On a Sunday… For what I read between the lines your lies (the words change but the tab doesn’t, for anyone who cant hear that.)

[Chorus] The chords used are C#m E A Ab A E A Ab A E…I’ll tab them out anyways e|--4------------0--------------------0----------4------0-----------------0--| B|--5------------0--------------------2----------4------2-----------------0--| G|--6------------1--------------------2----------5------2-----------------1--| D|--6------------2--------------------2----------6------2-----------------2--| A|--4------------2--------------------0----------6------0-----------------2--| E|-----------------------------------------------4---------------------------| Leavin on a southern train only yesterday you lied…promises of what I seemed
e|-------------0----------------4----0-----------------------0---------------| B|-------------2----------------4----2-----------------------0---------------| G|-------------2----------------5----2-----------------------1---------------| D|-------------2----------------6----2-----------------------2---------------| A|-------------0----------------6----0-----------------------2---------------| E|------------------------------4--------------------------------------------| to be only watched the time go by… All of these things you said to me…
Finish the song out by playing:
[Riff 1] [Verse] adding an “A” chord when he pauses to say “good-bye” (just listen you’ll see what I mean) [Chorus] [Riff 1] once
That’s about it I guess….email me if you have questions or comments. The chords are tough at first. I don’t think I have forgotten anything…but if I did then you should be able to figure it out with this.

Interstate Love Song Stone Temple Pilots
tabbed by Dr. Linus Rebar
There are a lot of tabs for this song on the internet that are correct with the exception of one part here or there. Most of them are also incomplete, or don't include strumming patterns, so this is probably the best tab of this available. Enjoy.
Also, if you have the time, look for my first tab, "Riding into the Sunset". It's the music that plays in the background as cowboys ride their horses in western movies. It's really simple, but fun to play!

Decided to learn this song but found all of the tabs up here to be insufficient. Some of them had parts right here and there but gave no strum patterns or really mapped out the song right. I can garauntee the Riffs and the Verse chords are right, yes they are hard to finger and play but they will get you sounding exactly like Dean Deleo if you practice playing them. Hope this helps.
Additional Chords for Chorus: A open pos. G# barre A barre E open pos. e|-0-------------|-4------------|-5-------------|-0-----------| B|-2-------------|-4------------|-5-------------|-0-----------| G|-2-------------|-5------------|-6-------------|-1-----------| D|-2-------------|-6------------|-7-------------|-2-----------| A|-0-------------|-6------------|-7-------------|-2-----------| E|---------------|-4------------|-5-------------|-------------|
[(0:00) Intro] (First 6 chords of chorus are strummed on an acoustic guitar): e|----------------------------------------------------------0---| B|---------------------------------------------4---5-4------0---| G|4/6------4/6/4---------------------------5-----------6----1---| D|----------------6--------------------6--------------------2---| A|-----------------------7/9/7-----7------------------------2---| E|----------------------------------------------------------0---|
Fingering for the verse: i-index, m-middle, r-ring, p-pinky e|4-i---------------------| B|5-m---4-m---2-m---2-m---| G|4-i---5-r---1-i---1-i---| D|6-r---6-p---3-p---2-r---| A|4-i---3-i---2-r---1-i---| E|------------------------|
These are the fingering I found the easiest to use since these are weird chords. On the first chord here I place my pinky behing my ring finger and lift the ring finger up as I am playing to get ready for the next chord. Pay attention to the fingers that stay on the same string from chord to chord and use this to help you make fluid changes. Start very slow and get use to the fingerings and changing between the chords.
