I like to stick a little solo in - nothing fancy - bluesey pentatonic based
on the 5th fret does the trick.

That's it - easy to play, sounds great through a les paul with the gain right up.

As with most Keys songs, Dan plays this with a lot of open strings in open positions so
his sound is large. He also likes to play on the lower strings to get that bass-y feel.
So let those open strings play and hold the root chords of A and E as much as possible.
I think this is pretty close.
